Astro Lighting brings a Hotel Chic look to any home
Have you ever wondered how to achieve that stylish boutique hotel look in your own home? With Astro Lighting, we believe we have the answer. When a company such as Astro invest in designing lights for exactly that purpose, we can take their cue on the latest styles and trends in the hospitality industry.
Light your living spaces with Astro
In the lounge and living areas, Astro offers a fabulous range of wall lights, table lamps, and floor standing lamps. By offering a choice of base and separate shade, you can effortlessly match your light fittings to your décor and taste. The essence of successful lighting in the living room is creating a warm and welcoming ambience.
Where extra light is required for any task work or when cleaning for example there is nothing wrong with well positioned downlights, however for creating a relaxing environment you need to consider wall lights, table lamps and floor lamps.
The Park Lane for example is a clean contemporary fitting, available with a Bronze, Matt Nickel or Polished Chrome base, and supplied with a White Fabric shade. You can purchase separately a Black or Oyster shade. For those homes with particularly large walls or spaces, Astro also offer the Park Lane Grande, with a height of 124mm and width of 195mm, the fitting is sure to make an impact.
The shade choice has been expanded to also include a Mocha and Putty, both seriously on trend finishes, matching the latest colour hues available from those premium paint manufacturers. Even more impressive, the Park Land Grande can be converted to an IP44 fitting, using a separate conversion kit available to buy. To conclude the wall range the Park Lane Twin fitting up sizes the Grande again, with a height of 152mm and width of 370mm. By housing two LED bulbs means twice the light output from one light source. The Park Lane Floor and Park Lane Table complete the range ensuring that you can complete the look with matching lighting.
More fabric wall lights from Astro, include the Azumi, San Marino, Caserta, Ravello, Connaught, Gaudi & Valbonne. All offer a unique style point, and most are available in a choice of metal base finish and a choice of shade. The beauty of all these wall lights, is their ability to add to a calming and relaxing environment. The fabric shades and soft tones create that warm and welcoming appearance and enable you to use a choice of light bulb to offer exactly the right lighting tone.
Astro Wall Lights
For the ultimate in creating subtle lighting, we recommend checking out the Parma plaster range from Astro. The beauty of the Parma along with many of Astro’s plaster range, is that the product can be overpainted, thus virtually blending the light source into your surroundings. Or of course, you can create a feature and paint in contrasting bold colours. Our recommendation is the 8w LED integrated light fitting8w LED integrated light fitting, offering a warm white (2700k) appearance.
Astro do offer a GU10 version as well, which is fabulous but the use of the integrated LED light source means the fitting emits a very clean light beam which looks simply stunning set against a dark wall. Similar to the Palma but with a more striking pattern, is the Shadow. The geometric lines offer a dramatic appearance, reminiscent of neoclassical architecture.
The Astro Hashira range has grown out of the Shadow, and rather than being over paintable is available 3 striking finishes, with the Matt Gold being our personal favourite.
Astro Picture Lights
Lighting artwork has never looked better with the Astro Picture lights. Available in subtle bronze, brushed antique brass, brushed nickel, polished chrome, bronze, and matt nickel, the 7 distinct styles of picture light ranging from 160mm up to 1109mm, will suit all but the biggest artwork. The in-built LED technology, in a warm white 2700k, will really show off your art, with the Mondrian range available as a 90CRI light output.
CRI refers to the colour rendering properties of the light source, with the higher numbers above 80CRI denoting a truer to colour output. What this means in essence, is your art will look exactly how the artist intended with no loss of colour rendering.
Astro Bedroom Lighting
For bedroom lighting, matching that hotel look has never been easier with Astro’s ranges. We especially love their pendant suspension kit, placed either side of the bed. Apart from looking fantastic, the pendant fitting leaves the bedside table free of clutter, with the mid fixing bar preventing the pendant from being able to move.
Astro also offers an extensive range of reading lights, designed to be positioned just behind the headboard. Their diminutive sizes have been designed to fold away neatly against the wall, with the small light perfect for reading, without disturbing your partner.
The Fuse USB for example is available in 6 stunning finishes and incorporates a handy USB charger. The Digit LED II offers a similar neat package with a fully adjustable and swivel head, and the ability to fold flush into the fitting.
Adding more warmth and depth to your lighting, well positioned fabric shade wall lights behind and either side of the bed, also look fantastic. The Park Lane Reader has to be our pick of the bunch, again because of the unique reading LED light incorporated into the fitting.
If you prefer the simplicity of a table lamp, the Ravello collection available with matching wall lights, creates a harmonious balance with your décor. The striking counter balance design offers a contemporary look to your lighting. Wall and table lamps in the bedroom can be complimented by smart recessed and baffled downlights, such as the Pinhole 1434001. By reducing glare through the use of the recessed black baffle, your lighting will be subtle yet effective.
In the bathroom, creating a hotel look has never been easier. Astro have a huge range of wall lights, suitable for installation into Zones 2 & 3 in the bathroom. We recommend reading our bathroom lighting guide, which will take you through the various options available.
